End Of The Trail
End of Trail

My wife and I bought this sand painting in New Mexico called "End of the Trail" for our grandson, well she wasn't thrilled and latter I had to ask myself who in their right mind buys a teenager a sand painting?
Either way the intention was for me to frame it, so here it is...
Frame (58) window size is 12x12 and is 1/4 sawn white oak.

Before our grandson knew of the painting he told my wife that he has wanted one of my boxes,
so being the fool that I am I decided to make a small box along the lines of the sand painting
So he ended up with a sand painting and a maching inlayed box.

Pelican
Animals: 3 of 3

This frame was a custom build for a customer owned piece of pen & ink art of a Pelican sitting on a post the Oak used was meant to highlight the pattern in the board the Pelican is sitting on with the color of the wood yellow/tan to fit with the green of the mat, with the square design matching the theme of the drawing. The added corner accents were used to add a dark offset, Sapele is a dark wood with a gold hue again to compliment the green matting.
The owner sent a photo of the mounted Pelican he was quite happy with the results.

The Bill of Rights
Frames: 1 of 4

This picture is a copy of the original Bill of Rights debated by the Continental Congress in 1789.
The frame(47) 16x20 is American Black Cherry w/ a Tung oil mix finish.
This was more of something I kind of put together after I made the frame and it was just so beautiful I had to put something in it, the Bill of Rights had the aged look and loose mounting it on canvas just added to it. The American Black Cherry just seemed a fitting wood for it and they really did go well together.

The Cabin
Misc: image 5 0f 10 thumb

The cabin is on the Mogollon Rim and had some unique graffiti on it from the original occupant. Carved in the wall was "To Hell With This Place Lost Host July 1911 D. Emery". It was so Cool I had to take the pictures. I added the sepia tone and mounted them the old scrap book way with ears just for some aesthetics.

The Frame(#18)16x20 is plane aged pine with a natural danish oil finish. The corner pegs are red wood. This was just one of those projects for some fun the pictures where just to cool.
